Foster + Partners’ Madrid office is located on Paseo de la Castellana, a prominent street that cuts directly through the centre of the city, from north to south.
The studio works across different scales and typologies, with a particular focus on local craftmanship and heritage. Senior members of the team regularly take part in mentorship programmes and internship schemes, to share their knowledge and create a supportive environment for those starting out in the field.
The team has worked on a diverse range of projects including Château Margaux, the first new building on the Bordeaux estate for 200 years; Vatican Chapel Pavilion of the Holy See, one of ten temporary chapels designed for the 2018 Venice Biennale; Le Dôme winery, nestled in the rolling hills of Bordeaux; Inn Hub La Punt, a centre for innovation in the heart of the Engadin valley; and Ombú, a transformative office building for the Spanish infrastructure and energy company ACCIONA.
The Madrid studio is currently restoring the historic Hall of Realms on the Museo del Prado campus and creating an extension for the Bilbao Fine Arts Museum. Both projects are under construction.
