Tiers is an outdoor furniture collection with ESCOFET, a Barcelona-based company that works with urban elements and architectural concrete to transform cities and promote the use of public space. The collection’s durable elements are made from ultra-high-performance concrete (UHPC) for a sleek and thin profile.
The Tiers family is made up of a bench (45 centimetres), table or perch (74 centimetres), high table (105 centimetres) and low stool. These elements can be used individually or arranged alongside one another to create different configurations for socialising, relaxing, or working.
The design team worked with 3D printers to generate a seamless transition between the leg and seat, while the pillowed edges enhance comfort and allow for drainage. All three linear elements share similar mould components.
Developed in conversation with the practice’s landscape and urban design teams, Tiers and Gather offer different levels of ergonomic support and privacy to meet a range of needs.
