Foster + Partners has designed a new home for a global investment firm in Mayfair, London.

The open plan workspace has been designed to adapt to employees’ needs, offering a variety of flexible working environments which allow staff to work creatively and fluidly across teams and projects. Advanced and intuitive technology has been discreetly integrated to improve productivity and staff communications. Designed to accommodate up to 315 employees, the office includes flexible workspaces alongside a staff restaurant, coffee bar, client suite and an outdoor terrace with views of a nearby square.

The focal point of the building is the multi-storey atrium space which forms the social hub of the new offices. Located on the eastern side of the building, this space connects all four office floors with a feature staircase, facilitating interactions between the various departments.

Collaboration areas and breakout spaces are strategically located adjacent to the atrium, on all levels, allowing employees to access the social hub with views out to the square and the city beyond.

Foster + Partners has created an interior design language that is tailored to the client’s working culture and operational needs, including bespoke workstations and fixed furniture elements. Architectural finishes, building services and lighting components are an integral part of the interior design language. A warm and contemporary material palette of timber, leather, soft textiles and light accent metal components creates a comfortable working environment.
