Michael joined Foster + Partners in London in 1994 after graduating in Germany with a first-class honours. He led the Hearst Tower project in New York, relocating in 2004 to oversee its completion and establish the firm’s New York office. His team won major competitions including Yale School of Management and supported projects like the Cleveland Clinic masterplan and Apple Campus. Returning to London in 2011, Michael led projects in São Paulo and Florida, notably transforming the Norton Museum of Art into a world-class institution and establishing Foster + Partners presence in Brazil. Having built a strong relationship with the Norton Museum of Art, he continues to be involved in shaping West Palm Beach’s future, with the second phase of the Norton Museum and a healthcare project for Cleveland Clinic. Michael is currently leading the design of 2 World Trade Center New York and a mixed-use masterplan project in Seoul. He lives in London with his wife Kristin, who established her own art gallery, and their two sons.
