Michael Ka Lok Ng

Partner, Interior Designer

Michael graduated from Nottingham Trent University and subsequently relocated to Milan, where he specialised in designing interiors for high-end luxury fashion retail. He joined Foster + Partners in 2002 to work on the Asprey flagship stores in New York and London. During this period, Michael worked on the Capella resort in Sentosa and the development of a 4 and 5 star hotel in Central Market, a mixed-use development in the heart of Abu Dhabi. In 2008, Michael moved to the Hong Kong office to oversee the construction of the UAE Pavilion for the World Expo in Shanghai, which opened to the public in May 2010. At Foster + Partners’ Hong Kong office, Michael was involved in the interior refurbishment of the Hong Kong and Shanghai Bank, as well as his role as design lead for the interiors for the Shek O private residence. In 2020, he returned to London as an Associate Partner, contributing to the interior design for Hangzhou Qianjiang Century City and the Palm Flower in Dubai. Currently, Michael is leading the interior design at the Ellison Institute of Technology and the refurbishment of a public house in Oxford. He was made Partner in 2025.
