Marc studied architecture and business at Yale University before joining Foster + Partners' New York office in 2008. Passionate about innovations in research and technology, he explores how a project’s multi-layered context (historical, cultural, physical environment and direct users) influences building designs and vice versa. His work pushes architectural boundaries by applying technological advancements in search of a more bio-climatically sensitive, human-centric design. His interest in this concept is reflected in his forward-thinking off-world projects, including the Mars Habitat and several lunar-based initiatives. Notably, he contributed to the design of a Lunar Habitat for the European Space Agency (ESA) and collaborated with NASA, Branch Technology, and Stanford University to develop a Lunar vernacular of interior architecture—bringing a sense of home and comfort to the Moon’s surface. And he is actively working with NASA on the first Moon Tower, a project designed to establish power infrastructure for the Lunar South Pole. In 2011, Marc relocated to California to help establish Foster + Partners' San Francisco office, playing a key role in the design and construction of Apple Park. He was made partner in 2015, and expanded the practice’s California presence further in 2022 by opening the Los Angeles office in Venice where he currently leads a team of more than 20 designers and architects. Throughout his career, Marc has contributed to a broad array of national and international projects, including 50 UN Plaza—a residential tower in New York City—and the office headquarters for Samba Bank in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He is currently working on a diverse range of projects throughout California in Beverly Hills, Laguna Beach, and San Diego, spanning industries such as culture, residential architecture, and the future of hospitality.
