Emma studied Architecture at the Scott Sutherland School of Architecture in Aberdeen where she received a First Class Distinction after specialising in a traditional hand drawn masters. She previously worked in a Rural Scottish practice designing unique homes for individual clients before joining Foster + Partners in 2014. Emma co-leads the Design Communications team, who are involved in all of the practices projects, working at the conceptual stage of the project to visualise the life and story and create artwork throughout the stages of a project to assist the design process. The team create a range of artwork from sketches, drawings, paintings to photorealistic renders bringing projects and spaces to life. Emma is specialised in drawing and sketching digitally and traditionally helping imagine the projects, translating conversations into visual conversations.
