Foster + Partners welcomes record crowds to Open House

Over 4,000 people visited the practice’s studios in Battersea as part of London Open House last weekend. Visitors were treated to an overview of the practice’s work through a varied display of recent projects, an exhibition showcasing the practice’s commitment to sustainability, and a range of interactive workshops that gave insights into the broad range of work at Foster + Partners.

The studio’s typically quiet weekend atmosphere was completely transformed as groups of local residents, architecture enthusiasts and families packed several of the practice’s buildings across its campus. With over 70 volunteers from the practice, people of all ages built interactive cloud structures and model cities, spun paint wheels, drew the future skyline of London and experienced 3D virtual reality environments.

Extending the Open House spirit of ‘celebrating the richness of London’s architectural heritage’, this year’s Open House event at Foster + Partners allowed visitors a chance to see the practice’s innovative design approach as they reimagined the future of our built environment.

We thank everyone who visited us at this year’s event and look forward to welcoming you next year.
